What is the difference between like and love? Where is it appropriate to use ‘like’ and where is ‘love’ the best word. Pls explain.

Like and love are different words.Love is a deeper feeling towards something or someone than like.Love is a pure selfless feeling. Like is not that pure nor selfless.
For instance-
I like dancing. It means I feel pleasure in seeing, reading about dance

I love dancing. It means I enjoy it greatly when I do or I feel crazy while dancing.

If we will talk about people
Like is when you know the best side of someone and you like them.
Love is when you know the worst side of someone and you still love that person with all your heart.

As Swami Vivekanand said-
When you like a flower, you pluck it.
When you love a flower, you water it daily.
