Can we use ‘from’ to express comparison?

Generally, we use ‘than’ to express comparison. Can we use ‘from’ for comparison?

Like – He is taller from his brother.

In Hindi, from means से. Thus, when I mean to say: वह अपने पिता से लम्बा है. Can we not say – he is taller from his father.
