Which is correct – ‘Prevent to’ OR ‘prevent from’?

How to correctly use prevent? Do we say – prevent from doing something OR prevent to do something.

Eg: Which of these will be correct:

a) Curfew prevented the crowd from reaching the hospital.
b) Is there no way to prevent the terrorists to cross the border?
c) How can we prevent the terrorists from crossing the border?
