Amitabh featured in a lot of below average movies in the nineties but then he began acting his age in the movies and regained his place of pride.

You say act your age to someone who is behaving in a silly, childish manner completely opposite to the mature behavior expected from someone his or her age. Thus, when someone who is a grown up behaves in an immature way, you would ask him to act his age.

1. Your brother keeps watching cartoon shows and playing computer games the whole day. Ask him to act his age, he is already in college. If he doesn’t get serious about his career now, he will be left behind.

3. Whenever something disagrees with him, he behaves like a child unhappy with his birthday present. He would shout, he would scream and he would make it difficult for everyone. Someone please tell him to act his age.
