Learn new words in this yet another fun post in our Practical English Vocabulary through Bollywood series. This is a clip from the legendary Kala Pathar and shows one of the several showdowns between two stalwarts, Amitabh Bachchan and Shatrughan Sinha.
Watch the clip, if required, more than once, read the annotations on the clip. Once you are through, answer the quiz at the end.

The clip features Amitabh driving a truck on what looks like a road between two cities and Shatru relaxing on a cot near a roadside restaurant. Shatru gets up when he sees the truck coming, sits on the road and blocks the path of the truck. Amitabh stops the truck and Shatru gets in. All the while we get enough hints of simmering tension between the two.
The scene then shifts to a tea stall where Shatru calls the waiter but Amitabh orders tea first. Each of them insists that tea be brought to him first. Tension mounts and everyone expects a fight to break out anytime. Just then, Shashi Kapoor, who plays the part of an engineer, enters and drinks the tea himself, thus smartly averting a clash. The tension is defused for the moment but you get a feeling that it is only temporary.
