Make no mistake. English speaking is a necessary skill for anyone serious in pursuit of his career.
Well, make no mistake means telling someone, “Make no mistake by assuming that I am making a mistake”
When you want to emphasize your point, when you want to say that though whatever you are saying might sound very bold or extraordinary, you are saying it after a lot of thought and deliberation and not as a mistake.
For example:
Make no mistake. I will break your legs if you ever set foot on my garden again.
Let’s take some more examples:
- Make no mistake, Pakistan can be very good on their day. I mean they are an erratic side, one day they play as champions and the next day, they would collapse as rookie school boys but you can’t afford to take them lightly.
- “Make no mistake, you are wasting your time. This is not how a business is built”, said his father. Manoj banged the door and stormed out of his room.
- Make no mistake, this friend of yours will one day lead you to ruin.
- Any violence is unpardonable, unjustifiable. No matter what the provocation. Make no mistake, no one has a right to take away anyone else’s life. Whatever be the reasons.
- It may look like that the company is in the red and his family might be losing control. Upto an extent, it is true that they are not as powerful today as they were 10 years ago. But, make no mistake, even today, it is they who run the business.
- Democracy and Supreme Court and Parliament is all fine but in Pakistan, it is the army that calls the shots. Make no mistake about it.
- Your smoking and drinking will lead you to a slow and painful death. Make no mistake about it.
