Recognition = In acknowledgement of something good that you have done (He was awarded the President’s medal in recognition for his service to the nation)
Outstanding = Distinguished (He is an outstanding cricketer)
Tireless = Without getting tired (Gandhi ji tirelessly worked for India’s independence OR Ever since he realized his lack of spoken English skills was hurting his career, he worked tirelessly and in a very short time, improved his English communication a great deal)
Humanitarian = Concerning humanity (He is known for his humanitarian work OR Salman Khan does a lot of humanitarian work)
Confer = Grant a qualification (He was conferred a PhD degree in 1980)
Honorary = Given out of honor without normal duties (Dhoni has been given an honorary rank of an army officer)
AV = Audio visua (The latest AVs coming from the site of the cyclone show that a large area has been destroyed)
Empowerment = To give power to (Several politicians talk about women empowerment but shy away from making any real contribution)
Giving back to the society = Do something for the society (Successful people should give back to the society OR Several celebrities do a lot of work to give back to the society)
Make a difference = To do something positive to improve some situation (Arvind Kejriwal is trying to make a difference to India’s corrupt system OR Listening to other people speak is really going to make a difference to your spoken English skills)
