Take to task = Punish (If the government wants to regain its credibility, it needs to take all the corrupt ministers to task)
Matter of time = Within a short time (Many experts believe it is just a matter of time before Pakistan implodes)
Come back to haunt = Past mistakes catching up with you (His crimes in his village came back to haunt him when he was arrested by police while working in a factory in Noida)
