A death trap for infiltrators..

The crafty commander positioned his soldiers very smartly and the narrow mountain pass became a death trap for all incoming terrorists and infiltrators. Many died and remaining fled.

Trap is जाल and a death trap is a trap which causes death. The bad thing about the trap is once you are in it, you can very rarely come out – it catches you and keeps you within.

The phrase death trap signifies any house, road, vehicle, building or sometimes, even a situation which is very dangerous and causes people to die.

Let’s take some examples:

1. Rohtang pass is one of the most dangerous roads of the world and during rainy season it can become a virtual death trap.
2. The car caught fire in the middle of the road and since the doors and windows were locked, it became a death trap. It was a big news item on the channels for a couple of days but then, everyone forgot about it
3. The fourth turn on this road is a death trap. The vehicles coming from the city side are not able to see incoming traffic because of the run and the slope is just too steep for the vehicles coming from the opposite side.

A death trap is something which traps you making it difficult to come out and then causes death.

Some more examples:

1. The crafty General laid the plan very smartly. The central pass was a narrow road with a deep gorge on one side and a steep hill face on the other. To reach their post, the enemy had to come from the front, there was no other way. The general and his men occupied all the key positions and were ready with their guns pointing towards the only approach road. When the enemy finally appeared, the valley rang with the sound of gunfire. The narrow pass became a deathtrap for the enemy. Several enemy soldiers died and remaining fled.
2. This jungle is a death trap. There are so many lions, tigers, wolves and leopards that there is no way you would be able to escape them. And then there are cobras. It is said that the smallest cobra here would be at least 3 meters long.
