Shades = Sunglasses
She looks great in shades and blue jeans.
The young captain stood tall in his uniform and Aviator shades.
Cheesy = Insincerely emotional
“I want to do friendship with you” is an extremely cheesy line and hardly any girl would be impressed by it.
Berserk = Frenzied, crazy
The bull had been hungry for the last two days. When the watchman started hitting it with a stick, the bull went berserk. It brought down several stalls and huts in the village and injured a couple of people.
Fall for = Get impressed with
Sharma uncle fell for Sharma aunty’s simplicity. This was way back in 1960s. They got married and had three beautiful children who are all settled abroad now.
Cradle = To support and take gentle care
His wife almost cradled him because he was very upset owing to heavy losses in the business
Crack up = Burst out laughing
The little girl told an adult joke and everyone cracked up.
