The new placement coordinator asked everyone to make new resumes. He hired a renowned training company to improve English speaking skills of the students. He arranged for mock interview sessions. Also, he has a lot of contacts in the companies and will be able to get a lot of them to our placements. We feel our future is now in safe hands.

How does it feel to be in safe hands? Before that, what are safe hands?

Well, safe hands are hands which are safe for you. But what if you are a grown up? Don’t worry – go figurative.

Improve English speaking - Be in safe hands

The tourists were stranded in the snow storm but they knew they were in safe hands when the army trucks arrived.

Being in safe hands means being in a situation where you will safe and looked after well by someone trustworthy.

Let’s take some examples:

  1. Do we really think that the future of the country is in safe hands with new scams coming up every week and new stories of how politicians are looting every single natural resource of the country dominating the headlines.
  2. It was a fearsome snow storm. All I could see was white, powdery snow. Another wave of snow and strong winds swept us off our feet. I fell down tumbling along the hill slope and lost consciousness. When I woke up next morning and a soldier gave me tea in a white aluminium cup, I knew I was in safe hands, finally.

Being in safe hands means being in the care of someone who can be relied upon. Some more examples:

  1. Everyone wants to believe that their kid is in safe hands at school. If such incidents happen,  people will be afraid to send their children to school.
  2. Every week, some major kidnapping or murder happens in this state. Rapes have doubled from last year. We are not in safe hands.
  3. With the professionalism and discipline in the army, at elast one thing can be said that the defence of our country is in safe hands.
