Politicians need to have a broad back. They should be able to take infinite amount of criticism without flinching.

If you want to have better English speaking skills but cannot afford to join the right program, talk to as many peoe ple in English as possible and have a broad back. Don’t get bothered when you make mistakes or they point your mistakes out. Don’t think they would laugh at you, even if they do, it won’t really harm you. Have loads and loads of motivation.

A broad back – that’s the target phrase for this post.

A broad back is मोटी चमड़ी in Hindi. You have a broad back when no criticism bothers you, when people saying bad words is cool with you. Someone who is not overly hurt by criticism is said to have a broad back.

Let’s take some examples:

1. In show business, it pays to have a broad back. All sorts of people will criticize you. If you let it hurt you, you will not be left with any mental energy to actually work.
2. I like him because he has a really broad back. I mean call him any kind of names and he is cool. Tell him that his ideas suck and he will smile back. He keeps doing his work not bothering at all about criticism. I feel he is a genius and the world will recognize him later.

Having a broad back means being cool with criticism. As an aside, it can be a very useful quality so all those who don’t have one, well, get a broad back while we close with some more examples:

1. All the politicians I have seen have a broad back. They seem to be unperturbed by criticism they get. However, some of them become very touchy if someone criticizes certain specific leaders.
2. If you are doing something new or out of the ordinary, have a broad back and be ready for a lot of criticism. People won’t understand you and till the time you show it to them that your way was better, they would only criticize and ridicule you.
