He is infamous in the movie making fraternity and no one wants to work with him.
Build up = Successively creating a lot of hype in anticipation of an event
There was a massive build up before the launch of Amir Khan’s TV show Satyamev Jayate. Truly, he is a marketing genius, he knows how to get people around to his cause.
Sachin’s retirement from ODIs was extremely low key – no hype, no build up. It makes me sad that he did not get a proper farewell.
Relieved = Feel relief
Sumit was relieved when he heard that he had passed the exam.
All of us were relieved to know that the train was on time. We were very tired and just wanted to lie down on our berths.
Appropriate = Right, fit for something
The government says that it will take appropriate action but does not specify what that action is going to be. This is why people are not convinced.
You should dress appropriately according to the occasion. If you go to the interview in floral shirts and baggy shorts, no wonder you will be rejected.
Outshout = Shout louder than the other guy
Several of our politicians seem to think that the ability to outshout others in a debate is what makes them leaders.
I am not here to outshout you. I only want to express my views in a civilized manner.
Flare up = To catch fire, to ignite quickly, to erupt suddenly
Communal riots flared up after politicians made aggressive speeches.
